| Nous Bonjour et bienvenue sur sur le site de la chatterie des Fluffy Coons. Petit élevage familial de Maine Coons, nous sommes situés en Basse Normandie, entre Coutances et Saint-Lô. De mère britannique, traductrice de profession et passionnée de chats depuis toute petite, j’ai un jour croisé le regard de ce chat majestueux, splendide, au regard sauvage mais au caractère si doux, et j’en suis tombée littéralement amoureuse… Au point de sauter le pas et de me lancer dans la merveilleuse aventure de l’élevage familial. Pour le moment, l’effectif de la chatterie est modeste puisque nous ne possédons que six femelles reproductrices, et un mâle. Nous ne souhaitons pas avoir trop de reproducteurs afin de conserver un caractère familial à notre chatterie. Notre objectif d’élevage est avant tout d'élever des Maine Coons sains et équilibrés, conformes au standard de la race. Notre souhait est donc de réduire les taux de consanguinité en travaillant des lignées traditionnelles avec des chats outcross et de fondation afin de préserver la race et renforcer les défenses immunitaires par un apport de sang nouveau. De plus, nous attachons une grande importance à la santé. Nos reproducteurs sont ou seront testés pour la HCM, la PKD (ADN + écho doppler), la SMA, PKDef, HD et FIV/FELV. Tous nos chats vivent avec nous dans la maison, choyés et câlinés. Ils sont entourés de nos deux enfants et de notre chien. Tout ce petit monde vit en parfaite harmonie dans notre maison et profite d’un jardin sécurisé pour le plus grand bonheur de tous.

Hello and welcome to the Fluffy Coons Web Site! We are a small home-based Maine Coon cattery located in Normandy, between Coutances and Saint-Lô. Half British (on my mother’s side), I am a free-lance translator, and have always been fascinated by cats since childhood. In fact, I grew up with cats, ordinary European cats that I have always loved. However, one day, I saw this majestic, splendid cat with its Wild Look and yet sweet disposition, and I literally fell in love with the breed… To the point of taking the plunge and beginning the fabulous adventure of breeding this “gentle giant”. For the time being, the number of cats in our cattery is relatively modest since we currently have six female Maine Coons liable to be in the breeding program, as well as a young stud cat. We wish to have a limited number of breeding cats so as to keep the family-sized character of our cattery. Our number one goal is to breed strong, healthy and well-adjusted kittens in conformance with the breed standard. We aim to reduce the inbreeding coefficient by crossing “traditional lines” with outcross and foundation lines to preserve the breed and strengthen their immune defenses by a new blood contribution.
In addition, we attach great importance to the health of our breeding cats: they are or will be all tested for HCM, PKD (DNA + echo Doppler), SMA, PKDef, HD and FIV/FELV. All our cats live in the home as pets. They are cherished, made a fuss of and thoroughly spoilt! They are used to children (we have two) and dogs. They all live in perfect harmony in our house and enjoy a fenced-in backdoor yard where they can enjoy the outdoors.
